May 2021 Prayer Calendar

    • 1.       Today, let’s rejoice in the Father of Lights. Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change” (James 1:17). God, we rejoice that You are consistent, in all things!
    • 2.       Sunday – When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:1-2). Jesus, fill our house today as we worship You. Come Holy Spirit!
    • 3.       Your blood, Jesus, is healing and powerful. We pray the power of Jesus be seen in this world!
    • 4.       God, we pray for courage to walk the path You have called us to. Even as Joshua was called to be courageous and not discouraged, we will not be discouraged! “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
    • 5.       Covenant – Your promise to us. You forever forgave our sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Today, we thank You for that eternal forgiveness and bind our hearts again to Jesus. “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28).
    • 6.       Today is the National Day of Prayer, and we pray for God’s glory to be seen across the earth. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).
    • 7.       Today, we bring an appeal to heaven and stand with our nation in the battle cry of freedom. Just as our founding fathers prayed for our fledgling nation, we cry out for her today and appeal to Heaven for America and freedom.
    • 8.       Victory – We celebrate this day declaring victory. Even as historically this is VE day, and the end of an evil plan in 1944. We declare victory in Jesus over our lives, our families, and our church. Break the chains of darkness and light our pathways.
    • 9.       Sunday – Mother’s Day. Thank You, Father, for our Mothers!  May they be blessed today and know how valued they are to You and to us.
    • 10.    Rejoice in life. Today, we celebrate life and the gift You have given us to know You and serve others.
    • 11.    Father, we pray for Journey Church. We ask for direction and wisdom to know Your plans for her in this season. Show us our part in serving.
    • 12.    Jesus, You are our victory and will be for all eternity! O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).
    • 13.   George Washington said, “Perseverance and spirit have done wonders in all ages.” God, today we stand in the gap for those falling. We pray for the strength to keep fighting the good fight, knowing You are with them.
    • 14.   “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). I pray my mouth and hands be used by Jesus to uplift the downtrodden, amen.
    • 15.    Today is Armed Forces Day. We acknowledge our thanks for all those currently serving in active-duty military. May they be protected and know the truth of God.
    • 16.    Sunday – Today begins Shavout, the Festival of Weeks or what we would know as Pentecost. I pray for our Jewish family to see the salvation of Jesus. The day Peter spoke in Jerusalem and Holy Spirit fell, many heard the love of God calling them to Messiah. Let this happen today.
    • 17.   God, we rejoice that You are our Father. Thank you for answered prayers for our family members who’ve changed. Thank you for turning them back to Jesus and the truth.
    • 18.   Jesus, we pray again for Journey church. We ask for greater clarity in the plans You have revealed and for those plans to turn into action. May we reach those we are called to and bless our neighbors.
    • 19.   God, we pray for our leaders, that they have wisdom and knowledge that only You can provide. Jesus, just as You trained Your disciples and then sent them out, we pray that You send out those leaders ready for the next step.
    • 20.   Shine Your light to the world. Father, today we ask for opportunities to share the name and love of Jesus with others. Let our hearts be open to your prompting and speak the truth to others.
    • 21.   “Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases …” (Psalm 103:1-3).
    • 22.   Today, we pray for the chaplains serving in the military, fire, and police departments. Give them health and strength to take the Word of God to the neighborhoods and the nations.
    • 23.   Pentecost Sunday – Holy Spirit we acknowledge You as part of the Trinity and the One who is with us here on earth. Let the fire of God fill our lives and make us more in love with Jesus.
    • 24.   Lord, we dedicate our households to You. We pray that You give us the wisdom to lead those under us and to be led by those over us. May You, Lord, heal our families.
    • 25.   We cry out to the God of Justice, just as the children of Israel cried out in Egypt. My deliver is coming! You are a just God. But the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness. Then shall the lambs graze as in their pasture, fatlings, and kids shall feed among the ruins” (Isaiah 5:16-17).
    • 26.   King of Kings and Lord of all, we exalt Your name together. We rejoice in the God who saves us and leads us on the path of righteousness.
    • 27.   God, thank You that You created me as a one-of-a-kind creation. Let my life be used in your service today and each day.
    • 28.   Jesus, let me know who I am in You and the giftings You have placed within me. May I know my calling and follow You in   whatever path You have for me.
    • 29.    Healing of our families, healing of our nation and world. May the Blood of Jesus bring life to each one.
    • 30.    Sunday – Life and change. There is new life springing from the ground, and there is new life in change of seasons. See the life and change around you and rejoice that I am moving on your behalf. Rejoice in Me! Jesus.
    • 31.    Memorial Day – Father, we remember today those who have fallen in battle. We ask for their sacrifice to be remembered and for our nation to stand in freedom.
