January 2021 Prayer Calendar

- Father, thank You for new beginnings. Today is the start of 2021 but it is also a start of new opportunities and seeing Your Glory shine in a new season. Thank you for giving me the direction for this season. Help me to follow Your path! (1/1/1776 George Washington unveiled the Grand Union Flag. 1/1/1863 Abraham Lincoln freed slaves by the Emancipation Proclamation.)

- This starts a focus on Proverbs 14 (RSV), Ask God to reveal His word to you in new ways. Read aloud and pray God’s word for each day. Ask God to reveal additional prayers to you.

- “Wisdom builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down. He who walks in uprightness fears the lord, but he who is devious in his ways despises him.” Vs. 1-2

- Sunday – The talk of a fool is a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise will preserve them. Where there are no oxen, there is no grain; but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox. A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies. A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.” Vs 3-6

- “Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge. The wisdom of a prudent man is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving. God scorns the wicked, but the upright enjoy his favor. The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy. The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.” Vs 7-11

- “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Even in laughter the heart is sad, and the end of joy is grief. A perverse man will be filled with the fruit of his ways, and a good man with the fruit of his deeds.” Vs 12-14

- “The simple believes everything, but the prudent looks where he is going. A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool throws off restraint and is careless. A man of quick temper acts foolishly, but a man of discretion is patient. The simple acquire folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.” Vs 13-18

- Sunday – The evil bow down before the good, the wicked at the gates of the righteous. The poor is disliked even by his neighbor, but the rich has many friends. He who despises his neighbor is a sinner, but happy is he who is kind to the poor.” Vs 19-21

- Do they not err that devise evil? Those who devise good meet loyalty and faithfulness. In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to want. The crown of the wise is their wisdom, but folly is the garland of fools.” Vs 22-24

- A truthful witness saves lives, but one who utters lies is a betrayer. In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death. In a multitude of people is the glory of a king, but without people a prince is ruined.” Vs 25-28

- He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. A tranquil mind gives life to the flesh, but passion makes the bones rot. He who oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.” VS 29-31

- He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. A tranquil mind gives life to the flesh, but passion makes the bones rot. He who oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.” Vs 32-33

- Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. A servant who deals wisely has the king’s favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully. Vs 34-35

- Today is a day to rejoice. God, this is a time to know that You are straightening our path; that You are making the crooked places straight.

- Today we seek truth. With all the confusion the enemy tries to swirl around us. Holy Spirit we say You are our Counselor. We ask to see the Truth in our situation and walk in it.

-  Sunday – “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I will say, rejoice!” (Phil 4:4). There is only one God, Jehovah, and we thank You that we are Your children. We rejoice that we know the Truth and it has set us free.

- There are many in our families who need to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. I pray for them to come home to the Father. I pray the prodigals leave the pig trough and come back home.

- Peace.  We pray for supernatural peace to be upon the United States of America. Let it fall like snow from heaven. Filling every heart with the peace of God.

-  Open my eyes to new things. Let me see Your path. Let me know what You are calling me to for the year ahead.

- Grace and Mercy. Let these attributes of Your character be seen in the world today. I pray for those I need to forgive and I release them to You. I pray for forgiveness for those I have wronged. God forgive me, in Jesus name.

- Jesus, Thank You for Your mercy. Today we pray for our president who is starting a new term. Give him the wisdom to follow Your path.

- God of Creation we thank you for life. Thank you that the tide has turned in this battle, on this date of abortion becoming legalized (1973), we say no more! We say all lives are precious to You and we believe for the ending of this heinous practice.

-  For the days ahead are filled with Joy, Let the Joy of the Lord be my strength today and every day.

- Sunday – (1848, Gold Rush in California begins) Prosperity in all things, my relationship with You, with others and in the provision, You entrust to me. May I in my abundance give where You lead.

-  I pray for the children and youth, of our church. Please give them an understanding of who they are. You created them as an individual and You will stand with them every day. Help them to reach their friends and family for Jesus.

-  Jesus, just as the shepherds and Wise men sought You out after the Star and the angles announced Your birth, let me seek You today. To know You more!

-   God, we pray for the strategies to reach the lost. What is the mission of Journey Church? Give our leaders the understanding from Your throne room and the ability to implement the strategies.

-  Today we ask for encouragement, help us to run our race well. God, I pray for greater understanding of Your Word as I read and pray it.

-  God, today we pray for our Police Officers, First Responders, and Healthcare workers. Please give them help and healing. Give them protection and the understanding that they are your children.

-  Jesus, I pray for friends today. May my friends know they are safe in Your arms, and may they know how precious they are to You.

-  Sunday – For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:15 RSV). I Believe!!!
